Custom Dental Veneers

Minor tooth imperfections, chipped tooth enamel and deeply stained teeth can leave you feeling self-conscious about your smile. In a situation like this, your dentist, Dr. John Blake, might recommend improving your smile with custom-made dental veneers.

Porcelain dental veneers are thin, porcelain-ceramic shells that are cemented onto the face of your teeth. They are a popular option for improving your appearance if you have teeth with minor chips as well as deep stains. The porcelain material can be matched to the color of your teeth so they look like natural tooth enamel, making them indistinguishable from your natural teeth.

It usually takes two separate appointments to completely cover the faces of the teeth with porcelain dental veneers.

At the first session, our John Blake, DDS, PC team will inspect the teeth in your smile as well as take a few X-rays. It’s important to make sure that there is sufficient enamel to anchor dental veneers, and it’s vital to assess the overall health of each tooth. If one or more teeth lacks sufficient enamel or if it has been compromised by past dental work, then Dr. John Blake might recommend the use of a porcelain crown.

At the end of this session, Dr. John Blake will create an impression of the teeth receiving the veneers. This impression will be used as a guide for the dental lab technicians who craft your custom dental veneers.

We will call you in for a second appointment when your dental veneers are created. During this session, your dentist will remove a small amount of the enamel from the face of each tooth. Then, each dental veneer will be cemented into place.
